We are still on Sapa:Unemployment and have looked at definitions for unemployment. Today we want to look at some causes of unemployment and why Nigeria has such a high unemployment rate
Some of the major reasons for high unemployment in Nigeria include:
- High population
- High migration from rural to urban areas
- Neglect of the agricultural sector in preference for other sectors
- Favoritism, Ethnicity & nepotism in the allocaton of available jobs
- Inadequate vocational and skills training
