I was in Lagos when the President made the announcement and the response was immediate. Fuel became scarce and prices skyrocketed. Black market merchants had a field day.
Personally , these problems were compounded by a transformer problem in my area. Even when there was power from PHCN, (playfully dubbed Power Withholding Company) we had no electricity.
We came up with the ingenious solution of calculation exactly how much fuel we needed to power the generator for 2 hours every night. Yes O! Sapa dealt with us too.
